Current example #1: I sat on the train home from work, and opened the Wi-Fi menu of my computer (an Apple brand one). It took almost half a minute until the Wi-Fi networks from home disappeared.
Current example #2: I opened a browser and entered chaos.social. Since I had no internet connection, the browser displayed »the web page is not available«. When the train rode into a region where connectivity was restored, a *reload* wouldn't load the web page but continued to deliver the error message for a few minutes!
@Xjs same for Android, NetworkManager only takes a few seconds
@Xjs I'm doing a ctrl+shift+R in that case.
@jeena Yah, I know I can manually empty the cache, but that wasn't the point :)
chaos.social - because anarchy is much more fun with friends.
chaos.social is a small Mastodon instance for and by the Chaos community surrounding the Chaos Computer Club. We provide a small community space - Be excellent to each other, and have a look at what that means around here.
Follow @ordnung for low-traffic instance-related updates.
The primary instance languages are German and English.
