There's a petition to Save the .org top level domain. Apparently, ICANN could still stop it from being sold.

I know, petitions rarely work, but I also know that _sometimes_ they do.
Please consider signing if you _run_ anything there, or if you _use_ or _care about_ anything that's on a .org domain. Also, boosting this to others who follow you, would be very much appreciated.

@amenthes
The web would be more free if it's not controlled from a central entity like that

@amenthes
But if dot orgs are banned how will the poor #CIA and #USAID topple #democraticallyElected govts in #coups and call it #charity?

Seriously though, wft?!

(We may add this to the list of reasons why the #clearnet is dying and the future is #Tor and #i2p)

@masterofthetiger the domain name system isn't bad per-se... it's just the centralization that comes with it that's bad...

@amenthes It really seems to be targeted at proper non-profits. I've got one as a personal domain, and didn't feel right signing.

@amenthes Done.
Why are they ending it? there are so much trashy TLD's but this one gets ended?

@finlaydag33k it's not Ending, but it is sold to some shady corporation.
