One for the nerds: Conversion from RGB to grayscale is mostly done by this standard NTSC conversion formula since the dawn of … NTSC:
r * 0.2989 + g * 0.5870 + b * 0.1140
But nobody noticed that 0.2989 + 0.5870 + 0.1140 is 0.9999, not 1.0? Or is there a good reason for this?
