I used to work a straight shot across a river - it was about 2mi I think?

However.

To get there I had to drive over 30m esp with traffic because it was more like 10mi.

I could have made it to the same place via bike and boat, in the same time. Unfortunately it was going to take 10yrs to recoup the cost of a watercraft
