🤔 Does a #federated #GitHub alternative make sense?
@davidpgil yes but we have to develop a technological standard specifically around the sharing of git elements between different instances. federating version control would solve a lot of current and potential future problems for the floss community!
@nydel I'm very interested in what people are doing with #federation. I think #mastodon has inspired people to make their own #activitypub compatible federated software. I recall #peertube , #pixelfed , #numa and #brutaldon all sprininging up in a bit over a year since #mastodon was born. I want to see not only federated #github but also federated #linkedin and #facebook alternatives that are activitypub compatible.
@davidpgil @nydel It's my intention to build a "federated LinkedIn". I'm calling it foss.careers since I aim to attract privacy minded open source aficionados but it'll be open to anyone of course.
