In-app support for SMTP connections now on meli (`async` git branch). Also available in the mail client library crate "melib" as an async interface using `smol` runtime.

Previously only sending mail by piping messages to shell commands was available. Now you can choose between SMTP and shell commands.

Also supported is SMTP password command evaluation

meli has now enough functionality to implement IMAP -> maildir sync with little new code. I hope it will be included in the next release.

async IMAP turns out very slow, so releasing this will take a while. But now instead of blocking UI can show a cute little unicode progress spinner in the bottom right

Working on using libprce2 in meli: You can define regexps in your theme's configuration to alter how e-mail text is displayed

Would you be interested in using my terminal email client meli but bummed out for some reason? You can help select a reason why if any applies to you:

Built every commit of using a simple pipeline of git rebase -x and gnuplot to see how the release binary size progresses (though with the latest rustc version)

Looks bad, but not that bad.

Custom themes coming in the upcoming alpha release (this is supposed to be a spooky october one)

Been doing a lot of backend work for , but here's an update on something visual: $NO_COLOR will be respected in the upcoming alpha release. no-color.org/

Fun data table feature: using a segment tree of an array with values the column entry widths we can query the maximum entry width inside a range in ~O(logn) time. No need for a column to be wide because of a large value that's 5 pages later!

Are you comfortable with ? Would you like to contribute to with mentoring?

I've started compiling some easy TODOs on git.meli.delivery/meli/meli/is . We will figure these out together. If you're interested send a private toot, email me epilys at nessuent.xyz or join on freenode.

meli.delivery terminal mail client

For what it's worth, JMAP, which no one uses yet, is coming to meli as well.

This will raise the count of mail storages of to five: maildir, mbox, imap, notmuch and jmap

Does anyone have experience with openSUSE Build Service and is willing to help me a bit with packaging ?
