I made a really funny meme, but sadly you can't read it because of the watermark...

I did a thing!

LED-Strip from IKEA that I had lying around for a few years now controlled over wifi by ESP8266

You know that feeling when you submitted a pull request to an open source project and then you just sit there, constantly reloading github to see if someone has answered yet?

does anyone else, when typing on a phone with both hands, use one thumb and one index finger for typing?

I just opened up this wireless phone charger.

Apparently after placing the status LED they noticed that it's too far from the PCB, so they just added another LED and decided to use the first one as a diffuser...

Uhh... I'm pretty sure cats don't do that, Duolingo.

Upgraded from 16GB memory to 24GB memory.

Now I can just leave IntelliJ, VMs and docker containers running, *while* playing Overwatch!

Why are replacement phone screens so expensive?

I was wondering why so much of my RAM is in use...

Turns out vagrant is still running two VMs in the background

Playing around with ansible + docker to eventually host my new personal server. Because it will also include an authoritative dns server my local dev environment now looks like this:

A vagrant file, which sets up two VMs and provisions them with ansible. One with the test environment and one with a recusive dns server and a socks5 proxy.
Also a script, which creates a new firefox profile, with the socks5 proxy preconfigured and then starts firefox.

It feels slighly over the top...

Btw: The fix was to run an additional recursing dns server in the local test environment, which can connect to the local authoritative dns server.

Yesterday I was messing around with DNS servers and spend around an hour trying to figure out why no public DNS servers could resolve my subdomain, provided by my own authoritative DNS server.

Obviously public DNS servers can't reach my test instance running on my local network...
