TIL: Japanese ISP's get rid of the PPPoE layer, and switch to plain IPoE, in a config which does IPv6 by default. Classic IPv4 is then tunneled over v6.

So essentially what you get as DSLite here in Europe? Well, at least the IPv6 part, I've not seen PPPoE for a while now myself, so no idea what the providers are doing (we have DOCSIS).
