@romariorios I don't get it. Why would that be dumb? Are you trying to sell the great firewall as a tool for online community moderation? Because it clearly isn't. And even if, than the moderator is a raging authoritarian. I do not see the advantage of this model over facebook. Both are dangerous bullshit.
@romariorios You can be mad at communities like kiwifarms and the great firewall at the same time. Btw, they don't block kiwifarms. And there would be no reason for that as the chinese firewall is definetly not a tool intended to protect their citizens from online harrassment and bullshit US policies.
Maybe this is a common scheme with CDN providers? The Organisation listed as the Certificate issuer seems to be one.
The server that allegedly runs the english version of the chinese government website does not have the certificate for the english version of the chinese government website installed but instead a certificate that is valid for parts of the international operations of BMW *and* a major social media app named "meipai.com", amongst other I didn't check. WHAT?
I don't know much about sec but apart from the fact that this isn't where it's supposed to be, this seems to be a very bad idea, right?
Cursed question: Is there any snapchat-like story app on the fediverse? I know Pixelfed but I don't like how they solved stories.
