As for the expression itself, good question. 🤔
There's a French equivalent (avoir le beurre et l'argent du beurre) but I'm not aware of a German version. Which is no surprise considering how crap my German is.
@0 it didn’t come to mind immediately but there is „Wasch mir den Pelz aber mach‘ mich nicht nass!“ (Wash my coat (pelt) but don’t get me wet)
