i'm only half joking because i'm going to name my oven controller that when i finally finish it properly.

because netbsd removed the toaster support some time ago, i think it's time for systemd-toasterd.

the reel of ws2812b-mini is in the oven and I'm monitoring the temperature in the console on my workstation. everything looks good so far.

75°C for >24h. meh, that's a while >.> i kinda want to test at least one board with the moist LEDs though. just for future reference.

next up: let's bake some WS2812B's because they've been exposed to the environment for too long. a quick python script for the oven should do the trick.
also i can upgrade the very old micropython version on it too...

but this is a good reason to build a boost led controller too :D

today in ln's LED adventures: all but one board work. the not-working one is the rainbow one.
the lumileds unfortunately have the same footprint as the osram LEDs, but the pins are mirrored. well, lesson learned.
also ordered the wrong green osram LEDs, with 6.25V Vf...

It's a lot of thermal mass, ramping up the heat is quite slow...

Placing some boards. Just the connectors still and into the oven they go!

okay, i love mermaidjs. this took like 10min from never having used it to "i'm perfectly happy with how this looks"

just found out about those absolutely neat (and cheap!) magnetic current sense ICs LCSC stocks: datasheet.lcsc.com/szlcsc/1901

bandwidth is just 80kHz and the datasheet only chinese, but looks neat in case someone's looking for something like this.

I processed one more; at the end I wasn't very satisfied with Hugin's CPfind, but I already spent too much time post-processing on it so posting it anyways.
I should pick control point manually, or at least mask the airplane trails before doing it...

oh and i did more research regarding those fancy samsung LEDs (LM301H), a bit about led buck converters, etc and only got up at 11am at that...

why does my brain have such a skewed perception of "things done"!?

me: i fixed a bunch of things in the website, upgraded my static site generator with convenience features and updated the build/deploy script. in addition i finally made my sway config usable.

also me: i wish i could be at least a little bit productive ;_;

I used Hugin on 50 shots of my timelapse series to stack them and this is what came out of it. Next time I'll capture shorter exposures to reduce motion blur. It is great how you can average noise out with simple tools! With proper astrophotography software you can do much better but those have much steeper learning curves.
