@anathem hmm, having stable 3,28 V measured and completly working UART. The ESP itself tells me via UART that the uC is unable to talk to the Flash. So, no UART involved here.

@margau I seem to remember such things from ESP32 dev boards... it was mostly fixed by using better USB cables or lower UART speeds. In one case, it only worked with supplementary power; the LDO on that specific board seems to have been at the lowest end of its voltage spec range.
