Help, HRT question, trans

I'm on estrogen for 5 and finasteride for 3 years. I also take Androcur at times when i can't bear the testosterone.

My "problem" is that i'm not genital dysphoric, down there it's just perfect to me. When i take Androcur, even 2.5mg almost completely destroys my libido and erectile function.

I always read that a good estrogen level would decrease testosterone, but that never happened at me. What should i do? Could progesterone help or does that only give bigger tits?

My estrogen levels are between 100 and 250 mol/g (volatile, i don't know why). I can't really make the Androcur pills smaller as they turn into dust.

There also is Spironolactone. I read that it has a weaker effect on Testosterone, so that could be an alternative for me. But i also read that it strenghens depressions just like Androcur. ☹️

Really, i don't know what to do. I'm feeling like i'm doing something wrong since i started my HRT 5 years ago.

My problem is as follows: If i don't take Androcur, i get super gross acne on my face and my back and even between my breasts. So bad i wouldn't want anyone to touch me (it's disgusting...). But if i take it, it is always too much and disables my libido and erectile function which i don't want either because i like my sexuality.

Any ideas? Could Spironolactone help here as an alternative to Androcur?

I guess the question is also: Why do i get acne in the first place? 🤔

@nora Oh hi there, I've just taken Androcur for around 3 months and have the exact same trouble!

What I try out right now is just taking 2.5mg (which for what I'm prescribed is half a tablet) every second day.
This was a suggestion by my endocrinologist so I'd say it should be safe and not make your T levels fluctuate a lot.

Progesterone works as a T blocker for some people apparently but honestly, it never did for me. YMMV. But its effects there aren't strong.

@nora I still have to do more *ahem* testing, but the half pill every second day does give me sufficient erectile function after 36+ hours of taking the last Androcur dose.
Libido returns a bit later for me - I have started masturbating again, and felt like doing that pretty much every second morning right before I'd take the Androcur dose.

I once knew someone would wanna have sex with me on that day and just opted to take Androcur later on that day after having sex. 😁

@natanji Taking a quarter pill every two days was actually better for me, too. Thanks for reminding me, i also tried that. But there are also effects with Androcur that last for months which i'm not happy with, e.g. reduced sperm production. I wish i could abandon this stuff completely. But if don't take Androcur, i always get really gross acne on my face, my back and between my breasts. Maybe i should go see a dermatogolist. 😤

@nora Dermatologist sounds like a good idea, yeah.

Just curious, what bothers you about reduced sperm production?
