🚨 Thank you for your feedback. Since the general mood was positive, we have decided to adopt the policy change (https://github.com/chaossocial/about/pull/6/files).
So, if you have a bot on chaos.social, we'd like to ask you to make its posts unlisted.
If you're using a crossposter, please make at the very least all posts unlisted that contain retweets or broken twitter mentions ("firstname.lastname@example.org").
Unlisted posts are still accessible to both followers and non-followers, they just don't show up on the local timeline.
🚨 We want to introduce a new rule asking people here on chaos.social to keep automated posts (mostly bots and broken crossposts) unlisted, meaning the posts are public, but don't show up on the local timeline: https://github.com/chaossocial/about/pull/6/files
Please let us know your thoughts.

As of Friday, this instance has over 1000 users – let's say "welcome" to our latest arrivals!
We blocked (suspended) federation with preteengirls.biz because it's exactly what it sounds like. It's also been added to our list of blocked instances: https://github.com/chaossocial/about/blob/master/blocked_instances.md
After a lot of database migrations we now run mastodon v.2.0.0 at chaos.social. You could find the release notes at: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v2.0.0
There is currently a problem with our custom styles because of some changes but we'll have a look into this tomorrow.
It seems like we could mitigate the problem with another reboot of the server running this instance. But we will monitor this issue for the next few hours. #transparency
chaos.social - because anarchy is much more fun with friends.
chaos.social is a small Mastodon instance for and by the Chaos community surrounding the Chaos Computer Club. We provide a small community space - Be excellent to each other, and have a look at what that means around here.
Follow @ordnung for low-traffic instance-related updates.
The primary instance languages are German and English.
