Mama so: Geht's dir eh gut? Du meldest dich, wenn du was brauchst, gell!!

I've jokingly told our little one that the weekend ("Wochenende" in German) is brought by the week-duck ("Wochenente") much like Santa brings gifts or so. Even though they don't believe me at all and say it's ridiculous ("Quatsch"), we all have a good laugh.

I like the Wochenente. 🦆

Drinnen: Kritik an Kapitalismus, Sexismus, Rassismus?
Wow.

"Let me take you away from all this," a voice said.
I looked up from the news scroll.
"No, let me," another voice said.
"No, come with me," a third added.
I smiled at the bed, the books, the games. "Thank you."

For #InternationalMensDay I want to share this reprint of an old poster circulating in german autonomous spaces in the 80s - It is definitely not perfect, but I've had it hanging in my old flat and it resonated with a lot of people who were not in the habit of questioning concepts like hegemonial masculinity. It roughly translates to:

"For centuries we had to be strong to fight for our honour in wars, the factory or the office. When we don't give orders, we follow them!
Violence against others is normal for many of us. Every third woman will experience sexualized violence in her lifetime!
But enough is enoug!
An end to strength, honour and all that shit! Let us finally learn to live as humans, self-determined and in solidarity, instead of constantly asserting ourselves as a man.
MEN! Understand the patriarchy as an attack on your humanity (as well)"

Canceled the updates,
rebooted,
backup is in progress,
so far everything still works.
Will try again later.
Thanks for your kind words ;)

Well, shit.
It's been like that for a while, and of course I have a lecture in 25 minutes.

Today is - almost missed it. Let's make it clear that the STEM area wouldn't be the same quality without the work of people. A look from a more diverse angle to things can get researches into a better inclusive state.
