arch linux question, manjaro

hey so I borked my manjaro.
It crashed while (probably) still upgrading.
Then I only got a CLI. I chrooted and fixed the linux419 image, which was broken. Now I could boot to the greeter, but here I am stuck.
I have reinstalled lightdm, I have uninstalled video-linux driver and can't get it installed again...
Anyways, is this install fucked? I don't really want to reinstall, will wait a while, maybe anyone has ideas what I could try.

arch linux question, manjaro

@pinkprius install a different DE and then select that one from the greeter?

arch linux question, manjaro

@moopet yes I had that idea too, but right now mhwd -a pci free 0300 doesn't work, it says
failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
and I don't have a video driver...

arch linux question, manjaro

@pinkprius Have you tried "pacman -Syuu"? (two u)

arch linux question, manjaro

@ZikZak yes, sure,
"there is nothing to do"

arch linux question, manjaro

@pinkprius then maybe removing xorg with a pacman -R as you do not have any working at the moment it can not be worse.

arch linux question, manjaro

@ZikZak taking a break right now, I think I'll reinstall

arch linux question, manjaro

@pinkprius real quick response:
unix.stackexchange.com/questio in case you haven't tried...

Also useful: check journalctl for lightdm and /var/log/xorg messages for the rest...

arch linux question, manjaro

@pinkprius Sorry if that wasn't helpful. Could you resolve the issue yet?

@pl 🙂 thanks for the link!
I haven't been home since sending the toot, and I am not sure yet if I will even try to repair, maybe a reinstall is less hassle.
