@pinkprius this has got to be satire, right?????
@pinkprius @joop its real, although may not pass EU compliance regulations - we have a ton of these machines anyway which deliver the same chilled and filtered water for free in many public buildings and healthcare facilities.
EU water companies *must* provide drinkable tap water from the tap by law, and (understandably) any device that could backfeed this water with water from elsewhere is *verboten*. not clear if this USA device has the check valves to stop that potentially happening.
@joop @pinkprius thinking about the logistics of the machine further, it would cost *more* to add the charging/surveillance circuitry and the GSM/LTE modem (+SIM card and engineer to get the thing working) to what is otherwise a standard water filter cooler that costs only a few hundred Euros to buy and install anyway. These things are often in basement floor level where there is no LTE signal and wifi not guaranteed either, and anyway you rarely need to chill tap water in North Europe winter😆
@pinkprius can somebody pay someone to burn all of these?
@pinkprius I think it says something about how much they seem to trust the local water supply.

@pinkprius all it's missing is a built-in adboard and we'll reach the Max Headroom future: https://youtube.com/watch?v=hjBdfMFPwQc
@pinkprius people would be allowed to get cholera if people could profit from it
