Wondering which option is tactically better, deleting a Twitter account or keeping it dormant with a post at the top pointing to its Fediverse migration. Feedback welcome! https://twitter.com/quimgil
@icaria36 Later option. Don't vanish, redirect ;)

Use this crossposter to mirror to twitter - so they'll know what they are missing
@icaria36 @SunDancer
"Twitter's business is based on views, clicks, favorites, retweets, followers... and crossposting keeps that business just fine."
I don't think crossposting contributes to twitters growth, I think it contributes to their decline because
a) I never engage with people in twitter, so they can see my #toots but need to engage with me here to get a reply.
b) the real human being (me) isn't using #twitter, it is using #mastodon. It's obvious if you look at my twitter profile.
@icaria36 I believe with 10 million users mirroring twitter would be worth close to 0$.
Also I didn't use that account before so I have basically no followers. You are in a very different situation so I understand your point.
When I am at a demo or sth people on twitter will be able to access news I toot :)
@pinkprius Thank you for your feedback and just a last note: Twitter's business includes selling (i.e. to governments) the data of you being at a demo and the relationships established with others reacting to it.
@pinkprius Of course, but let me go back to my reasons to leave Twitter: not to contribute to their private business.
@pinkprius it's your choice and your account of course. Twitter's business is all about people posting, no matter how you look at it. https://twitter.com/c_s_pinkprius/status/972846111563173888 is a regular tweet when it appear in Twitter timelines and searches. Crossposting preserves followers' status quo and comfort. A last top post explaining why leaving and where to stay in touch looks more effective toward the ultimate goals. As a test, multiply each behavior by 10 million users and see which one would hurt Twitter more.
