If you use or or , I highly recommend the VideoSpeed addon. It adds a video speed adjustment element to every video on any web page (which covers at least YouTube and vimeo, and most other video sources out there), and also adds (customisable) keyboard shortcuts. Being able to make every video go faster or slower is very very cool.

@rixx Coming back to say again THANKS for sharing this!! I use this A LOT now. It works on every damned thing I seem to test it on. Even GIFs!!

It's made my web experience so much better. Having the same keys combinations across them all makes it painless.

@david_ross very happy to hear that! Same here, it's just super convenient!

@rixx Doesn't youtube at least already have this?

@adnidor Sure, but it takes you two or three clicks to get there, and you never know when they're going to change their interface again. I find it very enjoyable to just have one interface for all videos on every website.

@rixx I recommend
Shift + . (faster)
Shift + , (slower)
These are the youtube default buttons, so you also get them if you don't install anything (so your muscle memory works on other computers, too).

@amenthes Yeah, but otoh you never know when the YouTube interface is going to change, so โ€ฆ I'll stick with the buttons I'm used to from my non-web video players.

@rixx @franzi youtube already does that by itself.

@snaums As I said: YouTube does, but it tends to change its user interface, and I have to click at least twice to get there. Also, having a standardised location across all video sources is very convenient. (Also: meh. Youtube.)
