¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anwendung:

5 mod 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 0

("einfach mal Fünfe gerade sein lassen")

I really should stream this stuff. Have been up all night with little to show for, and this would've been nicer if I could have talked at an empty chatroom. Well, ok, maybe not.

I think I have a really neat pretalx idea, but it's going to be a pain to implement and urgghgh

Not sure if this series of pictures of older trans people has been posted on the Fediverse yet. Anyways, here you go – we see so much of younger trans people. It's worth to remember, that there are older trans people around too, both long-transitioned and newly-transitioning. (Also: just beautiful to look at.)

Bercow declaring the dates of his resignation. Remarkable speech. Very impressive.

Oh dear, oh dear. The Speaker of the House, indeed.

I adore this post on "Workarounds for semantic problems" – read the follow-up post, too! blog.plover.com/tech/magic-phr

This work was made interesting by the fact that after doing Spain, I had "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" stuck in my head.

Want to realize how much of Europe is filled with countries and cities and other silliness? Take a map of Europe and manually remove all labels. (I swear this is legitimate talk preparation.)

Training a neural network to generate fake ICD-10 (illness/injury) codes.

My favorites so far:

Z620 Acquired absence of left ankle

Z8611 Immunization not carried out because of brain, unspecified, sequela

W3501XS Accidental discharge of prostate

I really need to write that blog post where I'm just all over the awesomeness that is Zeal. Offline docs that are full-text searchable and properly cross-referenced are just the best. All in one place. So fast, so neat.

Vixie's talk spells out the reasons behind my really bad gut reaction to DNS over HTTPS.

Don't implement DoH. It's a terrible, terrible idea. It's a political solution, not a technical one.

Talk is being taped, so video will be available soon.
