It's official. Microsoft buys GitHub.

@saxnot Sure, but that wasn't online back then. Claiming some news are confirmed when they aren't is bad form imo.
@rixx thank's for keeping ancritical eye on this toot.
I re-read the article and have to say that you're right. The article content is pretty vague. Also, the title of the article changed
@rixx back when I posted it the title was still "Microsoft Is Said to Have Agreed to Acquire Coding Site GitHub".
Of course "Is said" isn't really that strong.-
Current title of the article is "Buying GitHub Would Take Microsoft Back to Its Roots". I don't know why bloomberg is changing the title back and forth. Seems a bit fishy.
@saxnot Sorry, but neither confirmed, nor Microsoft buys or did buy Github appears anywhere in that article. In fact “Frank Shaw, a spokesman for Microsoft, declined to comment. GitHub didn’t return an email seeking comment on a potential agreement.” means nothing more than Bloomberg is only speculating about rumors.
You put this out as if it were fact with that article as proof, which it is absolutely not.
Semantics matter. A rumor is not evidence. Unless we get PR from Github/MS.
@saxnot How is that official?
