poll for font nerds

speaking of geometric sans serif fonts: Jost is an open source variable font (both variable weight and variable italicity (?)) in the style of Futura: github.com/indestructible-type

demo and donations here:

very nice!

another really cool open source variable font is Recursive, which besides the axes for weight and italicity, has a casual- and mono-axis:

casual means making the font look more handwritten and lively. and mono can make it, well, monospaced, or just "half-monospaced", if that's what you like.

perhaps it's already well-known among font people, but i think it does a really good job at showcasing the possibilities of variable fonts, and just an overall neat-looking font.

@sofia this was surprisingly difficult to answer!

(I answered correctly, of course 😉 )

@bronsen classic 😁.

one reason i did the poll is basically because i notices that Century Gothic (despite being part of the maligned windows default fonts) holds up pretty nicely. it mostly seems to be Futura letter shapes in more Avant Garde-ish dimensions, but it's nice.

@sofia Very neat, thanks for sharing! <3 Love that the entire demo page is editable! :O

@sofia I started using it a couple weeks ago. I'm using mono semicasual for code.
