Just as we see the white identified people's of various countries fight to preserve their dwindling privilege, we see that some struggle in the fediverse right now.

The world has changed. This is not debatable. People are sick and fucking tired of dealing with the toxicity of whiteness and it's inability to be rational in the face of progress.

The fediverse is not going to be another monument to whiteness. That time is over.

This upsets a lot of people.

Oh well.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. We all have to make the choice on what kind of community we want to build.

Do you want actual progress, or do you just want to some more token friends that you can to 'prove' you like 'diversity'.

Do you want to learn or do you just want to build a community that just affirms and validates your own biases?

We're all making some hard decisions right now concerning who will allow in our space.

This is a necessary process.

It would appear that YouTube really doesn't like hosting popular videos unless they get some ad revenue off of it. This would explain the #blender situation as well as their changing of ad sharing requirements.

"You must be this popular to get ad revenue, but not too popular without ad revenue".

I think we figured out their sweet spot for how they monetize the service.

After that it took Philip Guenther 2 weeks to fix it.

It took Colin Percival 5 hours to weaponise it.

Responsible disclosure means that certain people can fix their shit in their own time, disclose the vuln and leave the rest hanging.

I guess some people have a responsibility towards their stock options.

Please, when criticizing something make it concrete. Say why certain people are bad. Don't judge vague groups of people.
Example:

"This person is bad. It participates in harassment. This is an example"

"This instance is bad. Admin agrees with these and those bad things. Here's the link"

"This software is bad. It was explicitly developed to make this bad thing easy. Here's the link to developer saying it"

Generalizations lead to wrong judgement. It's convenient but stupid.
