TIL that this instrument, which has a perfectly respectable name in Germanic, Romanic and Slavic languages, is called the "hurdy-gurdy" in English, and this fucking languages just breaks my suspense of disbelief left and right 😂

(don't get me wrong, I love it, but I had to stare at the wikipedia page in stunned disbelief for a while first, and wanted to share)
