New sticker, I purloined it from @firstname.lastname@example.org
Hey, #Keybase users: If you'd like to see Mastodon support in Keybase (which is just *perfect* in a federated network to verify people) and have a GitHub account: make sure to voice your wish, +1ing this comment on the related issue. That might make it happen!
I mean, I understand having a Twitter account the same way I understand flying to conferences/vacations, or eating cheap animal products: Most people do it, and sometimes there's no easy or feasible way around it.
But approving or defending it is a different matter altogether.
Whenever I write about phone stuff, it implies WiFi only (sim card free) use. If you want to do something really good, get rid of sim cards. They're horrible.
Whenever I write about free software, it implies running the app on a GNU/Linux OS. I never use Windows or MacOS, and the same software might behave differently on those platforms.
Please run GNU/Linux on your computer and help building an open WiFi infrastructure. It is possible today.

Yet another good reason to make sure you're opted out of all Firefox 'studies' and 'experiments' or whatever they're calling them today.
They are not getting better as a company. Somehow these weird, anti-user things just keep happening. Because they're the 'future' apparently.
This is only the future if we continue to tolerate it.

My least favorite part about new folks logging in is the DM panic.
“Oh no, my DMs are unencrypted and can be read by the instance moderators and admins.”
“... just like every other social platform you’ve ever used, plus most email platforms.”
“Well, yeah, but on those other platforms the admins are a team of underpaid entry level employees at a faceless company, not a single person or small group of individuals that’s I can get to know”
Twitter: I can't believe this website is free!
Mastodon: I can't believe I'm free of that website!
