No, if they did I wouldn't have less than 30 minutes of non-meeting time between 10:30 in the morning and 2:00 in the afternoon. When exactly the hell am I supposed to eat?

@mike I don’t completely agree nor disagree. At the place where I work, meetings are very rarely mandated but most often coordinated between the attendees. For this reason quite a few simply put a lunch break into their office calendars so that other people cannot suggest meetings during that time 🙂

@zerok I have a daily "meeting" marked on my calendar for lunch. Despite that, last week I had meetings during lunch (not the one I scheduled) every single day. This week has been "better" in that I only have a lunch meeting 2 out of the 5 days.

So far that is. I just got an invite to a meeting in 7 minutes, so who knows what's going to happen so far into the future as tomorrow?

@mike That really sucks 😟 What would have happened if you had rejected that meeting? That being said, there are just some occasions where something like that cannot be avoided but it really should be the exception and not the norm 😖

@zerok It depends on the meeting. Sometimes it's safe to blow off, and when it is, I do.

@mike @zerok I definitely blow off lunch time meetings that don’t seem like an emergency and don’t provide food. There are exceptions of course, and I make sure they stay exceptions without becoming normal.

@mike @zerok Sorry to hear this. I can't imagine working in a place where I didn't have full autonomy over my calendar 🧐
