What kind of GPU should I buy if I want to run #Wayland? If it'd double as a GPU I can play a few games with (under Xorg, mostly - for Windows gaming, I have an NVidia) that'd be grand. In-kernel, open source drivers preferred. Not going to buy another NVidia, either, Nouveau or not.

The question is wrong: Wayland is a protocol, but you want to know how good something works that implements the protocol (just like X11 <-> X.org X-Server). Anyway, what @zhenech said is true: Radeon is a good choice, but Intel integrated as well; you might want to avoid GPUs that are brand new, as the drivers might not be in your distro yet

But you can't buy Intel GPUs (yet). You either have them in the CPU or not ;)

hehe, true, sorry; guess I mentioned it for completeness and the fact there are people that simply forget their might be a satisfying GPU in their CPU already

Yeah, the only reason I have the rx550 is that the Xeon in my workstation doesn't have an iGPU :)
